Eyelid Surgery in Cherry Hill, NJ
For most people, the signs of aging are often first seen around the eyes. Excess skin forms on the upper eyelids and can hang over the eyelashes, while the crease of the eyelid disappears and sometimes even impairs vision. On the lower eyelids, puffiness and bags beneath the eyes, which can occur at even very young ages, produce a tired and worn appearance. These issues can be addressed with a procedure known as blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery.
Blepharoplasty-upper lid
Your surgeon will carefully remove all of the excess skin, muscle and fat in order to sculpt and rejuvenate your upper eyelids. You can expect very natural results and the incision will be hidden within the eyelid crease making it nearly invisible. In some cases where a sagging brow is the cause of excess upper eyelid skin, an endoscopic forehead or brow lift may need to be performed instead of or in conjunction with upper eyelid blepharoplasty.
Blepharoplasty-lower lid
This procedure involves the removal or repositioning of the fatty tissues that causes under-eye bags. In most cases, a completely hidden, small incision is made inside of the lower eyelid, though the incision is sometimes made under the eyelashes in cases where there is a great deal of excess skin or muscle to address. For increased tightening of the lower eyelid skin, lower blepharoplasty may be performed with laser resurfacing.
