Revisional Eyelid Surgery in Cherry Hill, NJ
You are normally awake during an eyelid procedure. Medication is available to relieve any anxiety you may be experiencing. Your surgeon will inject numbing medicine around the eye so that you won’t feel pain during the procedure. Small incisions are made in the natural creases or folds of your eyelids, and then the loose skin and excess fat tissue will be removed. Your eyelid muscles will be tightened and stitches will be used to close the incisions.
Eyelid surgery does not decrease the wrinkles around your eyes and it won’t lift sagging eyebrows and you will still have dark circles under the eyes if you had them beforehand.
Risks
• Swelling of the eyelids which is usually temporary
• Scarring
• Bleeding
• Infection
• A hard time closing your eyes while you’re sleeping—this is usually temporary
You may have noticeable scars for about 6 months or more after surgery, but they should fade overtime. Your appearance will be more vibrant and younger and your look will last for years to come.
